The short story under discussion will be "What Kind of Furniture Would Jesus Pick" by Annie Proulx. It tells the story of a man named Gilbert Wolfscale, a rancher in Elk Tooth (a fictional town) who is a rigid workaholic with a controlling personality. The story is available for free online at:
