About this event
We can all plan for the dignified and meaningful end of life we deserve. Author and end-of-life activist Chris Palmer will speak about planning for a “good death” and overcoming the anxiety and confusion that so often overwhelm end-of-life planning. He will share insights on downsizing belongings, talking with others about end-of-life care, and more.
Chris is an end-of-life activist and a trained hospice volunteer. He has written ten books — the latest, is Achieving a Good Death: A Practical Guide to the End of Life (Bloomsbury, October 2024). He founded and leads an aging, death, and dying group for the Bethesda Metro Area Village and serves on the board of several nonprofits focused on end-of-life issues. His previous distinguished career as a film producer included serving 14 years on American University’s full-time faculty. Proceeds from all his books fund scholarships for AU students. He holds advanced degrees from Harvard’s Kennedy School (in Public Administration) and University College London (in Marine Engineering).
This event is offered in cooperation with Little Falls Library. Chris Palmer's newest book, Achieving a Good Death, will be available for purchase.
